Mission

Special Needs Lifeline (SNLLC) is a non-profit created by Camille Gallo when she was a graduate student at New York University SCPS.   SNLLC’s vision is to help as many people as possible through communication between the special needs community world-wide with New York City as a model for best services.  Specifically, SNLLC’s mission is to help those touched by a disability to connect with each other to create positive change.  SNLLC’s goal is to empower the special needs community by informing and engaging them with the hope to improve their quality of life through mobility awareness and improved accessibility throughout NYC.

Our goal at Special Needs Lifeline is to empower our community by informing and engaging them with the hope to improve.  To generate a movement to bring mobility awareness, consideration, and respect for all people in society; no matter what mobility challenges they may face.  Let us together ~ build ~ a beautiful and accessible community.

SNLLC ProgrammingRecreation and Respite Infused with Beauty and Culture

  • Recreation: Engaging the community in an activity through decorative arts
  • Respite: Guided relaxation exercises for the residents and caregivers
  • Create: Beauty within their surroundings with works made by the special needs community
  • Culture:  Shared interaction through socialization.

Aim: Engage the special needs community within facilities in a cultural activity

How:  Identify and develop a project that would positively impact the facility.

What:  The activity may be different within each facility.  Examples may be reflective art for windows, framed photos and/or pictures, community murals, etc…
